Not only famous for his invention of hazardous medical waste incinerators but also other useful technologies and solutions, Mr. Trinh Dinh Nang is also well known for his turning knowledge into high utilities in life.

Products made up during self study.
In the rural province, Song Cau commue, Bac Kan town, Mr Trinh Dinh Nang is well known as ” a barefoot” engineer because of his casual style of a local farmer with low grade. However, the man who was ever awarded with ” Talent Champion” – an award from program of Vietnam Talents 2016 is more well known thank to his passion of invention and success on his self study.
Among the creative assets of this 60-year-old inventor, first of all, there is a hazardous medical waste incinerator – patented by the National Office of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). 2012. Garbage incinerator is, capable of saving fuel up to 80% compared to imported products of the same type, one of his favorite “b rain-child”.
The new product with new technology is continuously heating and fire spraying (instead of oil spraying) into the object. At the incineration section, the device uses closed nano technology to help decompose smoke, dust and odors. The temperature in the center of the incinerator can be up to 1,800C, the garbage processing speed is very high.
Mr. Do Tuan Khiem – Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Bac Kan province – once praised Mr. Trinh Dinh Nang’s medical waste incinerator, which he said could minimize the generation of dioxins and furans. These exhausted gases can be used to burn other wastes to save fuel.
With ability of being very sensitive in recognizing new problems of life, looking for creativity in the field of the environment, he realizes that people grows turmeric sell their harvest at a cheap price while turmeric has a lot of benefits for health. While health and the trend of nano technology application in consumer products and medicine are on the rise, Mr. Nang and his son Trinh Gia Linh – a mechanical expert – turn to research and design of industrial production line, High-tech production of nano curcumin from turmeric.
Despite being a side business, he was once again successful producing nano curcumin products with a purity of up to 95%, while other technologies usually only reach up to 71%.
Many times I met him at seminars on post-harvest technology, at exhibitions on technology, I always saw him sitting until the last minute, listening attentively, taking notes, … and realized the strength of his self study despite of his age . The “barefoot” inventor once confided “The best way is to self-study and find answers to real life”.
Thanks to that spirit of self study, his company’s booth is always among the most prominent and attractive to visitors in technology fairs and exhibitions. There, he, the director always personally introduced his products enthusiastically, passionately with an agile and very “farmer” attitude.
Enterprising Spirit
Despite of his passion on technology and researching, Tring Năng, produces goods to meet the high market demand and improve people ‘s lives. Therefore, his studies and invention are all converted to goods.
Through Hoa Tu Long Industrial Heat Co., Ltd that he established – recognized as a S&T enterprise, his researched products are applied to production and market. In order to maximize the ability to reach customers, the “barefoot” inventor Trinh Dinh Nang persistently traveled all over the localities – from Hanoi to Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, Thanh Hoa… Almost the trade fairs there is his booth.
Currently, the incinerator invented by Mr. Nang’s for hazardous medical waste has been sold to 3 localities. When being asked about the secret of success, Mr. Nang only smiled and said briefly: “Those who are passionate about finding the final solution to the problem that reality requires will certainly succeed.” This is true for him – the person has a thin body (probably only 50kg ) always agilely speaks and reads each product parameter loudly every time someone comes in and asks.
What he is always concerned about is how the research results can be applied more widely; and to help domestic research products win over imported ones… the answer to this problem is not easy, Mr. Nang still believes when the product can compete in both price and quality, it’s for sure that there will be a stand in the market, his nano curcumin extraction line is an example.
“Research results cannot be still stand but quickly put in the practice. That’s the only way to have income and continue researches,” said Mr. Nang. The inventor shared that he is currently very busy with the project of putting the cucurmin nano production line into the production of pharmaceuticals and essences from natural products such as ginger, turmeric and cinnamon.
